Pemain Atletico Madrid Fernando Torres hampir saja kehilangan nyawanya akibat berduel udara dengan bek Deportivo La Coruna, dalam laga di Stadion Riazor Jumat (3/3/2017).
Torres terjatuh dengan posisi kepala terlebih dahulu menghantam tanah hingga membuatnya hilang kesadaran.Momen ini terjadi pada menit ke 84 pertandingan antara Atletico berhadaman dengan Deportivo yang berkesudahan dengan skor imbang 1-1.
Pemain asal Spanyol itu mendapat terjangan dari pemain Deportivo La
Coruna dan membuatnya terjatuh. Saat itu Torres berduel dengan bek
Deportivo La Coruna Alex Bergantinos.Torres yang menghantam tanah langsung tak sadarkan diri di tanah dengan
lidah yang terjepit. Pertolongan pun segera dilakukan oleh
rekan-rekannya di Atletico Madrid. Mereka berusaha agar Torres tidak
menelan lidahnya.
